Jenny Bain has been with us since March 2020, however her time with Northern Rights has been a mixed affair due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Because of the lockdowns, Jenny couldn’t initially get to grips with her role as Personal Development Adviser, so instead utilised her marketing and events background to support the organisation with profiling and social media.
Jenny said: “I was really looking for a change in career. I knew I wanted to help people but I didn’t know how, however when I saw the job with Northern Rights it seemed perfect for what I was looking for.
“It was tough not being able to get stuck into the role straight away, however they certainly kept me busy and now I am fully settled in and thoroughly enjoying supporting people so they become work-ready.”
Jenny’s role sees her working with individuals who are referred to Northern Rights from the Job Centre, specifically those people who have been out of work for 12 months or more.
Jenny initially conducts a diagnostic assessment with them to identify what support they need, whether that is basic skills development, confidence building, training, financial support or health and wellbeing advice.
Jenny added: “Everything I do is about getting the candidates work ready, so when they go across to the Employment Consultants they are in the strongest possible position to secure work.
“I am loving the job, everyone has been fantastic and we all work so well together.”
