STAFF TESTIMONIAL

Andrea Collin

Senior Occupational Therapist

I joined Northern Rights in June 2017 and here I am the Senior Occupational Therapist, where I work using a biopsychosocial model and a holistic, client-centred approach to support our participants in improving their overall quality of life.

As a Trustee of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association, vocational rehabilitation is at the heart of my practice. I’m passionate about helping people identify suitable employment options and use tools such as work hardening, graded exposure, and task analysis to support individuals in returning to or remaining in meaningful work.

Another key area of my role involves supporting people who are already in employment but are at risk of leaving work due to health-related barriers. I work closely with employers to identify reasonable adjustments and promote healthy, inclusive workplaces where all employees can thrive.

I also regularly supervise Allied Health Professional (AHP) students from Northumbria University, and it’s a privilege to have the opportunity, through Northern Rights to educate and support the next generation of health professionals.

Working at Northern Rights allows me to combine my passion for vocational rehabilitation with a truly person-centred approach, making a tangible difference in people’s lives every day.
